It has been a while since I posted. We have had more house shaking storms, celebrated birthdays, put on a new roof, and more. Today we will tour some more pictures from the DAFA show. It was wonderful.
I don’t have all the information for these but you can find out more on the DAFA website. We have a new Communications Chair who is working on getting it back to working and current information. We had a glitch and Gail is working hard to update it.
The DAFA website is http://www.dallasfiberartists.org/
Top to bottom, left to right:
Suzanne, our juror with Lisa, 2nd place. Group picture of winners, me, Lisa, Heather 3rd place, Debbie, Special Award, Gail, People’s Choice?, Carolyn-best in show, Suzanne and Natalie (first place). I am sorry not to have titles for all the art. Have not heard back on the list of winners.
One more thing about the last three pictures. The Mandala is made by our new president Brenda. It is all paper punched, very detailed, small pieces to create the whole. Beautiful.
The knitted piece is by another board member, Natalie, and is pretty amazing. It is made from the tapes of recordings made by her late husband. Moving piece. It’s titled “What He Said,” and it won first place.
The bowl is all felted pieces, placemat has each piece is individually rolled as are the chopsticks and individual felted grains of rice. Lisa has a real attention to every detail. I wish you could see it in person!
I hope you all have a creative, beautiful day.
